Title: Simply The Best

Summary: Takes places after Callie and her Father talk in "Invasion".

“When George met my dad…”
I pause feeling her shift against me. Her breath ghosts across my collar bone and I’m momentarily reminded of what’s left her so sleepy and sated.
“Hmmm?”
I can hear it in her voice she’s almost asleep. Barely holding onto her last tendrils of consciousness.
“When George met my dad I was so…stressed. We’d just gotten married, which I knew he wasn’t happy about. And I just…I needed my Dad to like him. I needed him to see that I-I could make my own decisions. Make my own good decisions.”
“George…stressed….dad…not…awesome.”
I reach down gently sweeping her blonde hair away from her face. Her eyes are closed and her face is relaxed. Free of the stress that comes with fighting to save the lives of tiny humans.
“It was right after…he’d slept with Izzie so…I guess I wasn’t proving much.”
I feel tension slowly filtering into her body as she retreats from the edge of sleep. A few moments later I’m met with sea-blue eyes looking up at me with concern.
“When my dad…when he talked to me tonight…I didn’t need him to like you. I didn’t need him to support my decision. Because I know you’re a good decision...the best decision. I didn’t need him…to prove that to me.”
Arizona smiles softly as she leaned down to press soft kisses to my shoulder. My hands move to the small of her back feeling the muscles shift underneath my fingers as she moves from resting at my side to hovering above me. My paisley bed sheet pools at her waist.
“The best decision” I exhale shakily as my hand tangles in silk soft hair and I feel her kisses begin to trail lower.
