Author's Note: I wasn't intending to add to the plethora of post-6x17 fics but I had a dialogue in my head that I wanted to write and some time to write it. This is the result.
( Arizona had ignored the surprised look on Callie’s face when she had announced that she didn’t want children. She had ignored the disappointment and sadness that had filled her eyes. She had ignored the awkward silence that had fallen between them, instead trying desperately to fill it as she had encouraged Callie to celebrate her experiment success and had urged her to share the gossip about Bailey’s third date with the gasman. She knew that Callie was simply playing along, toasting her success with a bottle of champagne bought from Joe’s on the way home, making small talk over dinner, laughing and joking with empty eyes. )
