"Arizona..." Callie called, pausing to knock on the locked bathroom door. "Arizona.." she tried again a hint of frustration and worry seeping into her tone.
Callie had been standing outside of the the bathroom door for approximatley ten minutes. She didn't know what else to do. She'd paced in the living room for a few, gone to the kitchen to get a glass of wine, thought about it, and decided to get a cup of water. She'd called Mark to see if he had any advice - realized who she was talking to then promptly hung up. She'd then gone back to pacing for a bit then finally headed back upstairs to the master bathroom.
"Arizona!" Callie called knocking on the bathroom door, "You can't stay in there forever. We have to talk about this."
Arizona had come home from her shift restless and drained carrying groceries and a few other things she'd picked up on her way home from work. As Callie had walked over to help her put away the groceries a few words had been exchanged and before Callie even know what was happening Arizona was headed to the bathroom. Callie barely had the time to collect herself when she heard the click of the bathroom door. To top it all off Callie was fairly certain that Arizona had in fact thrown her pager at her. They'd talk about that later.
Callie sighed, trying the door handle for the thousandth time. Hoping that maybe, magically, this time it would open, it didn't. Callie let out a frustrated grumble her hand going up to toy with the heart-shaped pendent that hung around her neck. Pulling it back and forth across the gold chain.
Callie bit her lip as she watched the bathroom door. Letting out a sigh as her mind went back to all those years ago. That night at Joe's when Arizona had walked into the bathroom and with a few words and a simple kiss changed her world forever.
Callie's brow furrowed in thought, still idly toying with her necklace. "What is up with our relationship and bathrooms.." she mumbled to herself.
Everything had started in a bathroom and now, it looked like this chapter of her life might be ending in a bathroom as well.
Callie leaned forward resting her forhead against the bathroom door, continually knocking. "Arizona..." she said every few moments.
About thirty minutes later the door pulled open suddenly. Callie looked up from the bed, standing immediatley when Arizona stepped into the bedroom.
"Arizona..." she said nervously.
"Positive." Arizona said after a moment, smiling softly.
"Positive?"
Arizona nodded, holding up the pregnancy test. "Positive." she repeated with a joyous laugh.
Callie smiled, walking over, wrapping her arms around her for a moment. "I..." Callie paused fumbling for words.
"You're...happy...ecastatic...super?" Arizona filled in for her.
"I'm actually....wondering why you threw your pager at me.." Callie said her face stern, but unable to keep the smile out of her eyes.
"Oh..that.." Arizona said looking down for a moment . "Well...I didn't hit you did I?"
Callie's laughter erupted from her filling the room with joy. Enveloping the two of them in the warmth of their love.
"I'm sorry about that.." Arizona finally said, "I was trying to tell you that I'd bought the test but you kept going on and on about something to do with Mark and well..I wasn't really listening actually."
Callie nodded, leaning down and pressing her lips to Arizona's "It's okay." she mumbled into the kiss.
Arizona pulled back looking up at Callie. "Can you believe it?" she whispered, her eyes bright.
"What took you so long to come out of the bathroom. I was practically having a panic attack."
"I know, I'm sorry. I'm sorry." Arizona said.
Callie smiled shaking her head, pressing a kiss to Arizona's forehead. Arizona let out a content sigh resting her head on Callie's shoulder.
Just as one chapter of their lives was closing another was opening.
"Arizona..." Callie said after a moment.
"Yes?"
"I just remebered...Derek asked me to speak at the Orthopedic conference that's coming to the hospital.."
"I'll get the brush."
