Callie smiled, taking a step closer to the blonde, backing her against the apartment door smirking at the small gasp she elicited. She leaned down and pressed their lips together, her hands resting on delicate hips hidden beneath the forest green silk of a dress she’d been thinking about taking off all night.
“Open the door Arizona.” Callie whispered, pressing soft kisses to her neck.
Arizona let out a shaky breath turning in Callie’s arms unlocking the door. Her dress falling to the ground a few moments after the door had shut behind them.
Later that night Arizona stood in her living room looking out her window at a view of the Seattle skyline. She wore a large t-shirt, her only protection against the light chill of the Seattle winter that had seeped into her apartment. She’d gently climbed out of bed a few moments ago, leaving a sleeping Callie, her mind restless. Her thoughts filled with ideas of love, forever and little girls with dark brown eyes and jet black hair. She was so absorbed in thought that she was surprised when a pair of strong arms wrapped around her waist.
“Calliope” Arizona jumped, tensing a moment then relaxing into her embrace, turning to meet soft lips in a brief kiss.
“I didn’t know you played piano.” Calliope whispered, referring to the black baby grand piano to their right.
Arizona nodded, her thumb brushing back and forth across the back of Callie’s hands “Since I was six.”
“Play something for me.”
“What do you want me to play?”
“Anything”
Arizona laughed softly, going over to sit at the bench. Running her fingers along the keys, pausing a moment before beginning to play, singing as well. Her voice, although untrained, was good none the less.
Hey there Delilah
What’s it like in New York City
I’m a thousand miles away
But girl tonight you look so pretty
Arizona smiled looking over at Callie her fingers moving deftly across the keys.
“It’s what you do to me.” Arizona mumbled against Callie’s lips a few minutes later. Raising her arms as Callie pulled her t-shirt over her head, dropping it to the floor as they headed back to the bedroom.
