A/N: Yes, I am aware that the Christmas Day part is weird, but that's the point. And to make us happier to what really happened last night.
Callie/Bailey
It was Christmas Eve, and after talking to Bailey’s father, and the phone conversation she overheard for Thanksgiving, Callie knew what she had to do.
“Take tomorrow off. Go, be with your father.”
“But I can’t, Callie. There is no point. Tucker is with his father, so I might as well work,” Bailey tried reasoning.
“That still doesn’t mean you can’t spend time with your father, who has come here to be with you,” Callie pointed out. “Just go. I can handle things here tomorrow. Besides, there are much better things I can do with Arizona at night,” Callie continued with a smile on her face.
“No, you are not going to tell me your nasty business. You people all think I care about your sex lives, but I don’t. But, thank you.”
And Callie walked away knowing she did a good thing.
Christmas Day
Arizona was over at Meredith and Derek’s house because Derek invited her and Callie. She had a great time singing with the chief and Owen, but something was missing. Since Callie volunteered to work for Bailey, she could no longer make it to Christmas dinner, and Arizona was bummed.
Meanwhile, at the hospital, it was dead. There were not many patients, which left Callie sort of bored. Once her dinner break came around, she went on a secret mission.
Back at Meredith and Derek’s, dinner was just starting. Arizona still missed Callie, but she was surviving the day with friends and good food. Soon, Derek had asked Bailey about a patient of hers, which offended her father greatly. There was a bit of a fight, leaving everyone speechless.
Outside, Callie was dressed up in a gorgeous white dress, white-feathered wings, and a silver halo. She was sitting on the roof, and wanted the fight to end. She thought she was going to regret going there with her little plan, but instead, she started singing “Silent Night.” She sang her heart out.
Inside, Arizona was listening to Bailey yell at her father, but she heard Callie singing. She thought she was going crazy. She didn’t want to ask anyone else if they thought they heard it, so she ignored what she thought was in her head.
Finally, it was silent at the table. All Arizona could do was ask anyone if they wanted some green beans, and they passed the food around the table.
Callie was done with her song, and she smiled. Then she floated back to the hospital. About an hour later, Arizona called her.
“Merry Christmas, Calliope. I miss you,” Arizona said cheerfully. “The weirdest thing happened at dinner. I thought I heard you singing “Silent Night,” but I guess it was all in my head.
Callie laughed. “Yeah, that’s probably what it was. I’ll be home in a couple of hours so we can have our own little Christmas.”
Christmas Night
Callie was hoping she would get home from her shift at the hospital before Arizona left Meredith and Derek’s. She was not sure if she would get there in time, but was relieved when nobody was at the apartment yet. So, she got herself prepared for when Arizona came in.
A short while later, Arizona came in. “Calliope!” she yelled her girlfriend’s name, but got no answer. She found a note on the kitchen counter. “Come into my room for a nice surprise,” it said in Callie’s handwriting. Arizona laughed and did what it said.
Callie was sitting in her room on her bed. She was excited when Arizona came in.
“What’s all this about?” Arizona asked when she saw Callie sitting there in her bathrobe and a little Santa hat.
“Surprise!” Callie yelled as she ripped off her robe, leaving her standing in a sexy pair of red panties and a plastic bow covering up her breasts.
Arizona giggled. “There’s food in the kitchen,” she said. “Pie and whipped cream.”
“Go get it!” Callie insisted.
An hour passed, and both women were covered in whipped cream and only wearing their underwear.
“I still need to give you your Christmas present,” Arizona told Callie.
“I think this is the best Christmas present ever,” Callie said, kissing Arizona and rubbing more whipped cream on her.
New Year’s Eve
Midnight struck, as Derek, Arizona, and Mark finished their surgery. It was a great time to spend with friends, but Arizona really wanted to be with Callie. She scrubbed out and ran to the attending’s locker room, hoping to still meet Callie. And to her surprise, Callie was waiting for her in there.
“I thought you would never get done,” she said as she kissed Arizona. “Happy New Year.”
Arizona was glad she waited up for her. “Let’s go home,” she said. “I have champagne and hats at home.”
And so they did.
