"Arizona.Oh my god, why didn't you call? I would've picked you up from the airport. Boy, you look like...oh, come here!" Teddy gave Arizona a big Hug and led her into the Appartment.
The Breakfast table was already set, but for three.
What was going on here? Was there something Teddy forgot to mention during their millions of phone calls in the last three months?
"Oh yeah...I forgot. Uhm...Ari...there's something I...but please,you need to promise not to get mad at me, because I didn't tell you earlier!"
"Teddy, please. Just tell me. Who is it? Who are you hiding in your bedroom?"
"I'm not hiding her..."
"HER?????????",Arizona wasn't sure if she really heared what Teddy just said, "Teddy, did you just tell me, that this third plate on the table is for a FEMALE and that you decided to explore lesbian land?", she couldn't help but grin at Teddy's facial expression.
"I do not need toexplain YOU, how something like this happens. She showed up a few days afeter you left for Africa. I couldn't do anything, It was just like...like a lightning strike. I took it like it was and please so do you". Teddy sounded a little bit pissed.
"Calm down. I'm happy for you, I really am..." Arizona smiled and added, "So, you Love her?"
"Yeah...Yeah...actually, I do Love her...She is just awesome", Teddy blushed and grinned like a teenager who just met her first Love.
"Really, you deserve it. You deserve to be happy. At least one of us is happy. When do I get to see her?".
"Oh, that sounds like I bought a new Gucci-Sweater you wanna see."
"TEDDY!!!!"
"She worked late yesterday, I don't wanna wake her up. I guess you will be here for a while so you'll meet her. Yor're my best friend and I didn't tell you from the beginning, so I owe you. You'll see her. But for now, enough of me. What the hell are YOU doing here? Aren't you supposed to be in Africa, making the tiny humans healthy?", Teddy asked al little confused while they took seats at the table.Teddy pourred coffee in their cups and Arizona started talking.
"Yeah, normally...I have to be there, but...I quit!"
"You did...You...You what?"
"You heared right, I quit. I mean, it might sound strange to everybody, cause it really was awesome over there. Seeing the sparkling eyes of the children when I helped them, feeling the joy of their parents when I told them, that everything would be OK with their little ones. My colleagues where awesome but I...it didn't feel right, being there...alone...without..."
"Torres knows that you're back?"
"Yyyyyes...and her name's Calliope or Callie by the way!"
"Uhhh, sorry! So, Callie knows you're back. I can give you a ride to hers. You guys need to talk. Tell her that you quit for her. That you came back for her."
"I...I already did", Arizona whispered and her eyes filled with tears.
Teddy grabbed her hand across the table.
"Did you call to tell her?What did she say?"
"No, I didn't call. I went to her appartment after I landed in Seattle. It was about 2.30a.m. and...", the tears started falling down Arizona's cheeks while she told Teddy what happend that night.
"Sweetie, maybe she didnt mean to slam the door. It was in the middle of the night an I think she expected everybody, but not you. Try to talk to her again, maybe daytime will be better."
"No Teddy, she meant what she did. After she shut the door, I went to a hotel, got a shower and tried to get some sleep. It didn't work out well, so I went back to hers really early to catch her before work and when she came out in the hallway, seeing me...she...she...", Arizona couldn't go on. The tears totally got her now.
Teddy walked around the table to sit in the chair next to her.She placed her arm around Arizonas body.
"What did she do?"
"...she told me to go back to Malaui!", Arizona whispered.
Teddy pulled Arizona in a big hug. Ari rested her head on her shoulders. That was all she needed right now. Just someone who was there. They sat there in silence for what seemed like hours. The tears finally stopped, when Teddy's bedroom door flew open.
"I'm sorry for interrupting you guys, but I got paged 9-1-1. I need to get to the hospital."
The voice sounded kind of familiar to Arizona, she lifted her head slowly to see who's voice it was...
"ADDISON???"
"Yeah, just me. Nice to see you Arizona!"
Arizona's wet eyes wandered from Addison to Teddy and back. That couldn't be possible. She wanted to say something, but she couldn't find the right words.
"OK, I would Love to chat with you right now, but like I said 9-1-1.We'll catch up later."
"Yeah...Yeah...we...we will!"
Addison grabbed her purse and kissed Teddy goodbye. Before she rushed out the the she turned to face Arizona:
"I know, I'm her best friend and normally I have to be on her side and practically I am on her side, but let me tell you one thing...She's stubborn, I know that but: Get your beautiful blond ass up and win your girl back!", and with this words, Addison was gone.
"You are sleeping with Addison? Calliope's best friend Addison? Does she know?",Arizona asked trying to stay calm.
"Yeah, I'm sleeping with her and it's the best Sex I've ever had...oh and not just that, I Love her, I really do. And yes, Callie does know and her reaction was just like yours", Teddy snapped at her.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to sound like an asshole. You Love her and you are happy and that's all what matters, it's just..."
"WHAT?"
"...kind of akward. You're my best friend, Addison is her best friend and right now it doesn't look like Callie wants to see or talk to me an..."
"We'll do that,OK? You guys will work that out. I'm sure. I'll help you. I'm there for you and I'm sure that we'll get Addy on or side too, if I..."
"Alright, stop. Don't say it", Arizona smiled a little.
Teddy laughed, "I won't. But now lets start eating. I'm starving. And after Breakfast I'll tell you what we two Beauty's re up to today."
"Thank you Teddy. For everything",Arizona said softly.
"Not therefor", Teddy replied with a smile.
