Callie found that the next few week flew by. She had become close friends with Leonardo and his boyfriend Jeremy, and spent a lot of her time out with them both either at the movies, or just hanging out at the beach or the mall. She found it funny how her father thought that Leo and her were a couple, and found it even funnier how they acted around each other whenever Carlos was around. Leo would 'man up' so to speak, and would be very affectionate towards Callie and would call her 'baby' and 'sweetheart'. So far the plan was working, and Callie was going to fly back to Seattle after the ball.

The ball. One thing Callie could not stop thinking about. She had a dress, and she could dance, she even had Leo to accompany her, but the one thing that really bothered her was that Arizona wasn't going to be there. She knew why Arizona wasn't going to be there, but she was heartbroken. She had planned it all out in her head, She'd dreamt about it whilst she slept, she would get Leo to distract her parents whilst she whisked Arizona off to the dancefloor, they'd share one dance together, one perfect dance under the chandelier, before they parted ways leaving her parents clueless.

It was a perfect image Callie couldn't erase from her mind. Arizona Robbins in a gorgeous dress. Her perfect blue eyes looking up at her with nothing but adoration behind them, as they danced.

"Callie?"

"Huh?"

"You drifted off again." Leo laughed as he and Jeremy sat down at the table with two plates of fries. "I went to get us some food, and when I came back you were in exactly the same position as I left you. What's on your mind?"

"Uh nothing." She mumbled as she grabbed hold of a handful of fries and stuffed them in her mouth.

"Hey those are mine!" Jeremy yelled as he reached over to take the plate away from Callie. "You said you didn't want any, so I didn't get you any."

"I changed my mind," She replied as she quickly grabbed some more fries before the plate was out of reach.

"Seriously Callie, what's bothering you?"

Callie sighed. "Arizona."

"Just a few more days til the ball, then after that you can go home to her." Leo managed to say as he too stuffed his face.

"Baby, don't talk with your mouth full." Jeremy scolded.

"Yes mother."

Callie laughed, she loved the playful banter between Leo and Jeremy. They were a perfect couple. They had one of those relationships that many people envied. However they had to hide it. Jeremy's parents, like Callie's, were homophobic, and would never understand the love that Jeremy felt for Leo. Everyday he would lie to his parents, whenever they asked about his love life, he would say he was either single or dating a girl from out of town. He never mentioned Leo's name in front of them, and Leo was surprisingly ok about it. He loved Jeremy, and supported everything he did, he was always there whenever Jeremy needed him, always. Callie often wondered how people could be so against homosexuality. Leo and Jeremy were a beautiful couple, and it angered her that people couldn't get past their stupid beliefs to see that.

"You could just get Arizona to come to the ball. I mean I'm going." Jeremy said as he covered his fries in ketchup.

"Difference is Jeremy, you were invited and you're going to escort my sister ther-"

"Well actually, he's only coming to make out with me in the garden." Leo interrupted.

"Which was your idea not mine. If we get caught I'll-"

"We won't get caught!" Leo rolled his eyes. "Besides it's not like I'm going to be able to keep my hands off you. I love a man in a suit." He giggled, as she scooted closer to Jeremy and kissed his cheek, but as he did so Jeremy pulled away and looked around.

"You can't kiss me in public Leo, what if my parents were here, or someone I know sees us?"

Callie could see the frustration in Leo's eyes, she knew all he wanted to do was to show affection for Jeremy, and because he couldn't it was killing him. "You know I don't quite understand you two." She said quietly.

"Excuse me?" Leo said confused.

"Well you both love each other, yet you're afraid to show that love, even when you're not around your parents, I mean that has gotta be tough right? I surprised you two have lasted this long." Callie glanced at them both, as they realised the situation they were in. An awkward silence hung over them before Leo finally spoke.

"Sure it's difficult, but I mean you're basically in the same boat Cal. You have to hide Arizona from your parents."

"Yeah but I don't live near my parents, I live in Seattle where I can be public with my relationship."

Leo sighed, before taking Jeremy's hand in his own and tracing the pad of his thumb across his knuckles slowly and carefully. "I love you Jeremy, I really do, and I'll be here for you no matter what, whether you decide to tell your parents about us or not. It doesn't matter to me whether we have to stay in the dark or be out in the light. My love for you isn't gonna change, not now, not ever. I'll always be here for you."

Jeremy smiled at Leo. "I love you too." He said softly before planting a soft kiss on Leo's lips.

However their tender moment was ruined by some teens in the booth at the back of the dinner shouting "FAGGOT!"

"And you wonder why we don't be affectionate in public?" Leo rolled his eyes. "C'mon lets go to the mall or something," he said as he emptied his pockets and paid for the food.

After spending some time with Leo and Jeremy at the mall Callie decided to leave them and head home. Her parents weren't in when she arrived, and so she took the opportunity to call Arizona.

"Hey baby," Arizona said as she picked up the phone after only two rings.

"Were you sat by the phone or something?"

"What?"

"Well you answered after two rings. Were you expecting me?"

"I'm at work, I have surgery soon, and I was just sat in an on call room staring at my phone, thinking of you."

Callie smiled, "And as if by magic, I called!" She said enthusiastically.

"Haha yeah," Arizona laughed. Callie could practically hear her smiling at the other end of the phone and pictured those dimples in her head.

"I love you Arizona."

"I love you too, and whats wrong?"

"Nothing's wrong, I just wanted to tell you I love you, and I miss you." Callie said softly.

"Not long to go now til your home, I'm already counting down the days."

"Me too, me too. How's everything at the hospital?" Callie asked, trying to change the conversation before she began to cry.

"Things are good, the Chief still hasn't replaced you, so I'm guessing you still have a job when you get back. Though how could anyone replace you? Your irreplaceable!" Arizona said happily.

"Yeah, I hope I still have a job."

"You will don't worry, oh and hey I have to go for surgery. I got a child to stitch back together, honestly you'd think parents would think to put a small child in a car seat, that way when a truck plows into you, the child won't go flying through the windshield."

Callie laughed, "Yeah parents are stupid, now go be a rockstar. I'll talk to you later."

"Ok, I love you Calliope."

"I love you too Arizona."
