It was definitely more than she'd been expecting. Natalie had honestly thought Steve had been planning a trip that just included them, a tent and a beach. Not that there was anything wrong with that, except maybe sand in the sleeping bags. But this was so much better than any tent.
And he hadn't been the only one walking around with a perma-grin, as one of her coworkers called it. The teddy bear he'd given her, complete with lei, was now a permanent fixture on her desk at work. When she'd left work on Friday afternoon, she'd told everyone at the office that she was going off the grid for the next forty-eight hours. She just wished they could stay a full week, but a weekend was a very good start.
"Why am I not surprised?" She chuckled and walked over to him. "Not that I'm complaining."
A full weekend with Steve all to herself in the most gorgeous part of the island she'd seen was pretty much her idea of heaven. Natalie slid her fingers through his, and lightly squeezed his hand.
Steve slung his trusty SEAL duffle bag over his shoulder and wrapped an arm around her waist, before heading towards the bungalow. What was first on the agenda? She'd see. He directed her towards the massive master bedroom that had a wall full of windows that looked out on the ocean. On the bed were some swimsuits: a pair of board shorts for him, and a new bikini for her.
There's a big ol' dumb smile plastered to his face right now.

This was way better than camping out on the beach, which something Steve isn't necessarily against but he's had enough "fun" in the Navy with tents.
