Most curses only last the day...

That's true... just about anything can be endured for a day. Though this month we've had a few that stretched out, so who knows...

I forgot about those...

They do seem to be the exception, though, and not the rule. That last one wasn't even so bad.

It might be safe to dress up as something you wouldn't mind being stuck in, if last year's stories are any indication.

Perhaps something closer to "normal" than not? A musketeer or a highwayman, or ...I don't know, a pirate?

Hmn, that's probably good advice.

Pirate might not be a bad idea. I like pirates. I think I'd make a good one.

Thank you! I'm glad people are trying to dress up anyway, despite the curses. Sometimes holidays are what people need to ...break up some tension, I suppose.

So the question is, what sort of pirate would you be? A captain?

The rational object of curses is to promote a feeling of being cursed, right? Even when we're not. I'm not inclined to let the possibilities spoil my fun.

Captain sounds good. Whichever kind has the coolest hat, maybe. You planning on dressing up?

Nice to meet you. The name's Carlos. As for a dashing costume, what about Dick Tracy? Or Indiana Jones. Either would be awesome to turn into.

Hiya Carlos. Fox Mulder.

Indiana Jones could be cool, though I don't know if I'm really a whip guy. Dick Tracy... I dunno, I can't see myself in a yellow hat.

Nice. You're name's Fox. That's pretty cool, actually.

Go with Indy, man. Chicks dig Indy.

I guess. Mostly people call me Mulder, though.

Don't chicks dig pirates, too? I'm kinda leaning toward pirate at the moment. Always wanted a peg leg.

I'm sure it will be acceptable, Mr Mulder.

You will participate in Halloween, then?

Fantastic.

I'm thinking about it, I don't know. I gather it's dangerous to indulge in the holiday spirit around here, but I've been in a pretty good mood. You planning to dress up?

I had not yet considered it. It is not traditionally one of my people's customs.

Hmn. Well, when in Rome, as they say?

I don't know what you'd go as, though.

Not a problem. I take it there's nothing new on that front, huh?

Not as far as I'm aware, so I should hope not.

Hmn. Well, on the plus side, that means there haven't been any more killings...

Let's hope it stays like that.
