Yum! I love food posts. Different foods are some of the best parts of traveling.

I didn't expect this post to get so much attention! But yes, I'm the same, I love trying local foods when I go somewhere, and things you can't get at home. Still never tried catfish!

Each piece of meat you see on his plate and those on the hotplate that are obviously not my chicken is a different animal. *tries to remember* One frog leg, venison, shark, ostrich, buffalo, alligator. He gave me a piece of what he thought was elk but elk wasn't even there so I'm assuming it was buffalo? Rattlesnake was meant to be there but they didn't have any so he got kangaroo instead. It was a really interesting experience for him - I think he'd been wanting to go there for about 2 years but only goes to Banff once a year and no-one would ever go with him! His Mum said she was too squeamish when she visited Banff. His meal was $53 dollars though, which although he got a lot of variety, the portions were small so he said he's glad he had the experience, but perhaps wouldn't go again because of price and the cook-your-own-food. I myself was a bit nervous about cooking it myself, I generally pay to avoid that!
