Well I had my nerve root block this morning. May I say it was not at all nice

It is a really uncomfortable procedure to have done, I had three done at the same time just about a year ago, but to be fair it's worked.... and I am pretty much pain free and mobile now. I had to have the same thing done about 8 yrs previously... laughed with the orthopd the other day that it's like an oil change I'll just come in every few years now for a grease and top up.
You will find more than likely that about 2 days down the line as the bruising comes out it will be sore and really achey, but about the 5th day you'll suddenly notice that it doesn't hurt so much any more.

That's the same thing I get done every now & then. I just had it done last week. I generally get very good results from it.
