I love it!! I feel like I should hate the hero but somehow I don't, I like him a lot despite his seriously (understandably) misguided notions of what is right/what needs to be done in the name of survival.

Yeah, I was very sympathetic to him even as I wanted to smack him for his horribleness. He makes for a very compelling bad guy/hero combo.

Main guy is a piece of work. But strangely despite him being a violent bastard all the time, I empathize with him. There's a disconnect in his brain when it comes to honour and duty that I find interesting - he's not exactly evil but neither is he a good person.
