Finally got a letter back from Pitt today regarding the Canchellor's scholarship (full ride).  I didn't get it.  Thus my intentions have been shattered.  I do have the full tuition scholarship, but still, I would leave undergraduate school with over $40,000 in debt, plus I want to study abroad.  And I plan on earning my PHd and may be entering a ( Read more... )

focus on undergrad before you even start thinking about grad school. for all you know (and in all likelihood), your major might change several times.

lack of money in college is also not the end of the world. look into getting financial aid for housing.

i know these are common worries, but i attend one of the most ridiculously expensive schools and you eventually realize that things might just work out, and that hope is usually good enough. studies are far, far more important, and if they aren't, a lot of money will be wasted no matter what college it is.

this is so flattering!

so many times i have considered transferring out of the university i'm in, because there's really no way to lie about it: i can't really afford the education i'm getting.

but i think that if i make this my dream and do it, it will be okay. and if i can be okay with paying over 100k in loans when i'm out of school, then i can be okay with just about anything.

this has been encouraging. I'll just wait to see now on the UB and UVA scholarships, then weigh my options and make T-charts -_-;

I'm sorry about the scholarship but it seems like you had plenty of good news today :)

I wanted to get a job at Kohl's too! Lucky you!

I hate that moment when you realize you get no money. I'm sorry Pitt didn't work up to your expectations, and I also agree with what Janice said.
