No, the book after the Illiad is the Odyssey, which was, like the Illiad, written by Homer. Ulysses is a massive, brilliant but heavy-going twentieth-century novel. But the plot is intended to mirror that of the Odyssey. However, for cool Irish literature of that general genre, you should read something by Flann O'Brien, like At Swim-Two-Birds, or The Third Policeman.
Ah, I was thinking about the the Odyssey, I think. Maybe I won't read it then. We'll see, I probably won't read anything on this list just yet anyway. =)
