Between the DDOS attacks on LJ and my new love of Wordpress and all of its shiny bells and whistles I wonder if LJ is a veritable ghost town.
There are communities that still actively post, and I do check them from time to time, but I feel like I've abandoned something here that was once very special to me.

No, you've got it about right. Comms are about the only reason it's still really used, a few of my friends still post semi-regularly, but that's it.

Your mileage may vary - I have a number of friends in the greater Bostonistan area who use it regularly as a personal blog.

Community-wise, it was a great organizational tool for defendants recently in a frivolous lawsuit.
