I'm reading it now, so I'll come back and read your review (and hopefully have something to say) once I've finished.

I finished this last night and loved it. No time to comment now, but I'll definitely come back later today and put my two cents in.

I am trying to decide whether I liked this better or Hundred Thousand Kingdoms, and I'm torn because I loved both - guess Jemisin is just that good ( ... )

That phrase made me pause as well, to be honest. It really doesn't click the way dreamblood or even dreambile does.

I kind of interpreted the Waking Moon as a star or a planet. Not a real moon, but the people thought it was?

I've finished this but haven't gotten to the review yet, but I'm pretty much with you on this one. I really loved it. The first thing that really struck me about this book was just how good the writing was, even better than the Inheritance Trilogy I suspect. I also didn't really find any info dumps. I have a feeling that there's still a lot left to learn about this world (even with the interview at the end), so I'm glad that there's another book to read.

Awesome. I look forward to your review, then!

Psst! Don't forget to fill out the poll for February's You Dare Me! :)

I loved the writing on this one too. When I started this, I was taking a break from A Casual Vacancy, which I was not enjoying. It was so wonderful to just open to the first page of this and get absorbed in the language.

I enjoyed the story, but I think I will need a second read through to get a good appreciation of the full shape of the book.

I'm looking forward to the second book, though I have not yet started reading it.

Sorry to hear you weren't (aren't?) enjoying the Rowling. I've heard so many mixed reviews about it that I've decided to hold off on it.

Do you think you'll wait to re-read this one until you've read the second book?

I'll probably read the second one first.
