I haven't really been overly interested in his stuff since reading Looking for Alaska, until this came along. Well, that and Will Grayson, Will Grayson, but that was co-written, and I haven't read it yet anyway.
I am not a fan of Green, and I actually liked this book. There were some elements I wasn't a huge fan of that he always uses, but they were way muted in this, I felt like. I also liked him finally writing from a female POV, because it's his male MCs that I tend to despise, especially because they have no reason for being so...depressive, and yet they are, but here Hazel has a reason, and she isn't. She makes the most of the situation. And I use characters like her to whack characters like Green's other MCs over the head with.
I've only ever read Looking for Alaska, but I can see how there'd be a big difference between his male POVs and this female one. He did such a fantastic job with this one too....
