Thank you, thank you, thank you for this! I read it in three days :) Absolutely loved it. I agree that the narration was the best thing about it, once I got used to it. And so original - the trickster that's a little weary of being a trickster was my favorite character, I think.

I will definitely look for more from Karen Lord.

Yay! So glad you enjoyed this! Her latest (and second) release is The Best of All Possible Worlds. The narrative style is very different, yet it still retains the same flavor of the first book. It's a weird thing to describe, other than to say you can tell both books are by the same author, even though the story-telling methods are different. :)
