Picked this up at CapClave, have yet to read it. So far Carrie Vaughn's novels (I've read Kitty and the Midnight Hour and After the Golden Age) have been kind of "Eh, okay" for me, so I hope these short stories do wow me.

I do too, especially because I think quite a few of these stories showcase Vaughn at her best. Please let me know what you think of this when you get around to reading it. :)

Now I really want this! I'll wait to see what you have to say about Valente's WSFA book and then I'll decide if I should go ahead and order :)

Although when I think about it, Valente is somewhat of a must-buy author for me...

Amen! There's a ton of stuff I either own or want of hers that I haven't read yet, but I can't wait to get my hands on it. The only downside to Valente is I feel I have to give myself a good break before reading another one of her works.

I'll give you a head's up: Valente does cyberpunk, and I'm very pleased. :) Well, I use the term cyberpunk loosely, but still...

Yay! Glad to see you liked this one. I also hope that Vaughn will end up releasing another collection some time in the future. I found I often liked her non-Kitty stories better than her Kitty ones.

Here's my review- http://temporaryworlds.livejournal.com/106935.html

Oooh, thanks for the link! I did want to go back and read your review.

BTW: did you get an email from me recently? Just wanted to make sure it was received. :)

Yes I did! Sorry about the delay. I get so much junk mail and notifications from things that sometimes the important stuff gets lost among it.

That's an easy thing to have happen. :)

I want! Alas, neither of my local library systems carry it, so I guess I'll just have to have unrequited want :)

Yeah, this is a very limited circulation. If a library actually had this, I'd be shocked! :)
