I wasn't a big fan of the first Risen Empire book, but by then, I'd already read Uglies and loved it, so maybe that's why my reaction to the first Risen Empire book wasn't all that great.

I was quite pleased, though, with this series. :)

Long to wait to respond, huh? I just finished this one and enjoyed it very much. I wasn't going to continue the series and I'm glad I did. They reason why I finished is pretty cool. Scott Westerfeld came to our area to do a talk about his books and the illustrations in the Leviathan trilogy. He is an awesome man. He even chatted with me before the start of the talk.

I'm really please to have read the second book and now the third, Goliath, is sitting on my shelf.
