Aug 03, 2010 12:38

It seems that announcing challenges two months in advance is working out for some people, especially for those of you battling library waiting lists, so unless I get an outraged cry to STOP announcing these so early, let's move on to October's vote, shall we?

A really difficult decision. Zombies are not my genre (I have something of an allergy to horror), but post-apocalyptic is right up my street. I went for The Loving Dead because I think the choice of zomibification being sexually transmitted is really interesting. That said, World War Z was an extremely close second, and I'd be interested in Feed as well (if only to see what everyone else is so excited about).

I hope that whatever is selected you'll enjoy! I've heard wonderful things about WORLD WAR Z and very positive things about FEED. The Beamer grabbed my attention before it came out, so yeah, I'm curious about it too. :)

I voted for Feed. I've already read it. I think it's very good and I'm interested to see other opinions.

In other news, you may be pleased to know that I was looking for more genre fiction to read (Urban Fantasy specifically, for research purposes) and the first place I turned was...your reviews.

I picked up "Unclean Spirits."

Awesome on both counts!

Also, you should check out Cherie Priest's Eden Moore trilogy, starting with FOUR AND TWENTY BLACKBIRDS. It's more "rural" fantasy than urban, but it's very, very good.

I am uber excited about this challenge! :D I looooove me some Zombies. I already have read World War Z, so it was a tie between Feed and Patient Zero, both of which look AWESOME! I ended up voting for Feed, but will read whichever one wins. Great theme! :D
