I finished the third Dresden book before giving up on the series. I liked some of the things Butcher did with it and really hated others, but I kept pushing through the books because so many people I knew loved them. The end of book 3 was quite enough for me, though. I did read his first Codex Alera book, which annoyed me less.

I hear better things about the Codex Alera, but I've got SO much to read that I don't have much impulse to check it out.

Heh, well, given that my word choice was "annoyed me less," I'm not exactly making a ringing endorsement of it.

Ah, well. Now I sort of wished I stuck around to read Caine's story but basically I read Jim Butcher and Ilona Andrews and skipped the rest.

Marcone was Marcone. No surprise there and I enjoyed seeing his thoughts esp. given what happens in some of the later books (foreshadowing?).

Andrews wise, well, more Kate, esp. when Kate is being kickass and a smartass is fun. Plus, Saiman. Well... Saiman is unique. Heh.
