I think that anyone who would take lightly the thought of someone whipping knifey-things around his balls ought to have his head examined!

Your trepidations are certainly well-founded... and I think that what you're doing is gutsy and very noble.

I sincerely hope and pray that your urologist's hypotheses are correct and that this will enable you and Hope to make your dream a reality... and I pray that your pain is minimal and your complications are nonexistent.

Thanks so much for your well wishes. They do mean alot. I think really I am just in for a week of swearing under my breath and then a few weeks of no running. At least I hope so.

Oh, I found your blog, too (I'm not stalking you, I promise...)

I constantly try to counteract these fears by cultivating a firm belief in my own mediocrity. Minor dramas only. I hope your surgery is a very "mediocre" experience as well - but with great results.

Thank you very much. Your system of belief has a certain attraction. Unfortunately, I have a stronger belief in a systematically ironic universe that has a twisted sense of humour. But I am certainly hoping for the mundane in this case.
