Yeah so I indulged my nerdiness and went to the midnight premiere with Ben, and don't get me wrong the movie's a LOT of fun! Things to keep in mind though: a) it's a Michael Bay film, and he hates characters but loves the military and giant explosions and helicopters at sunset, so that's what you're gonna get and b) this is a movie about giant ( Read more... )

That being said, and if you DON'T admit this I will have no idea who you are, Soundwave was perfect. Perfect.

Yes, I'll give you that Soundwave was pretty damn awesome, as were all the Cassettes (especially Ravage and those little nano robot pill things that became the blade-thin 'bot. SWEET). I wish though that Soundwave hadn't just remained in orbit the whole time tentacle feeling up that satellite, I wanted to see his robot form! Maybe (hopefully) he'll be in the third movie more.

Stuff in TF2 that I thought was totally BADASS: Prime and Bumblebee, Devastator (for the minuscule amount of screentime he had, poor guy), Starscream (OMG he was PERFECT, woo!) and Jetfire was pretty cool too - weird, but cool.

The whole Star Wars ripoff pissed me off though. WTF was up with Emperor Palpatine aka The Fallen? "My apprentice"? Really, they really went there? ARGH. Okay, I'm done now.

The feeling I got was that Soundwave probably would have won if he was the only decepticon (other than his cassettes) on or near planet earth. Everything he did was flawless. Why? Because he's fucking SOUNDWAVE!
