As freaking cool as being able to use the lj-bot to post journal entries is, I am considering actually using it. This message (and the previous two) fall into the "experimentation" category and thus require no updates to your TOS. Future abuse of my own posting privileges may require a new umbrella.

That is a mighty fine idea, and I would never have even "gone down that road" if I wasn't involved in youth ministry and it just happens to be a useful way to keep in touch with many of the kids I am involved with.

For anybody else reading this, there are several measures you can take the make the experience bearable. Firefox extensions to the rescue.

1) Adblock. Duh.

2) Greasemonkey. There are scripts availible that strip out various junk from the pages, auto-login to forms, skip advertizing pages, remove profile editor "taglines", and many other useful things.

3) Stylish. Sanitize all profiles to one standard simple layout with a "sanitizer" stylesheet.

You will still not get a warm-fuzzy feeling inside when you surf, but it won't make you want to leave your lunch in a bucket!
