Thoughts on Kylara (and Lessa and Women in DF!Era Pern in General)

I would read that AU, where Kylara replaced Lessa as Weyrwoman. (Maybe Lessa never made it back from her jump between times, or the jump somehow rendered Ramoth infertile?) It would be messed up, but very interesting.

I agree with you about Kylara. What a wasted opportunity. I can't help wondering if Anne would have written her differently if she'd written her later on in her career - though I guess Avril Bitra is kind of a nu!Kylara. I mean, Anne sort of dropped the whole virgin/whore dichotomy later in the series (Moreta, Sallah, Sorka, and Zuleya were allowed to enjoy sex). *sigh*
