i understand that it might suck to come in during the last two hours of being on call, but the fact of the matter is, you're still on call and my machine isn't working

People who are "on call" don't realize on call MEANS if you are called, you come.

It's just that they're so resentful sometimes when you call them in an hour before they're off and then it's something that takes longer than that. I get that it sucks - I wish it hadn't broken either!
