About four years have passed since I began my training in Britain, which means I am over four years old now--something I did not really think about last month. Of course, that is not counting my time in the egg, because while I was aware of a good portion of that, it was very boring and so does not count ( Read more... )

You were in an egg?

Oh, yes. All dragons come from eggs.

That's what you are?

Yes, I am. I am a celestial breed dragon, in fact.

[Though there is absolutely no reason this would be meaningful, it is said very smugly.

I asked about this not long ago and got some interesting recommendations. I hope you can too!

I've been reading some Earth fairy tales. They're oddly bloody for children's tales.

I know some Chinese folktales. There are ghosts in them, but Laurence said there is no such things, only I am not so sure.

I don't think that we have any ghosts in my world, but perhaps in other worlds? It's hard to rule out.

Yes, especially because even if you have never seen a spirit, it does not mean that they are not there.

We have lots of dragons on Fahren, but we didn't know there were any of them in the City.

I have not heard of Fahren, but if there are many dragons there, then I think I would like to go, if I could.

We have never seen a real dragon but Fahren has lots of stories about them! And the people dress up as dragons during holidays…! And our ship, the Dome, is shaped like a dragon!

[Fahren has a culture like China’s ^,^]

Are there many dragons where you come from?

Your ship is a dome?

There are not so many dragons as people, but then we do take up a lot of space and eat a lot of food. However, I am used to having many other dragons around, such as my friends Lily and Maximus.

It is perfectly normal to hatch! In fact I think it is much more sensible than the way humans are born.

How about law?

Reply

voice; calculusdragon February 27 2011, 03:39:34 UTC
Oh, yes, I think laws are very interesting. I have always thought it is very wrong that dragons in Britain do not have the same rights as humans--though conditions are improving somewhat, when in China the law is the same for both. I find it worrisome that there is no consistent set of laws here, but at least I have not felt unfairly treated.

I come from a world with no dragons at all, so I don't know what the legal situation for dragons is, but that there's no actual laws here worries me as well.

Everyone has different ideas about what are the right things to do so it would be better if everyone agreed on some things ahead of time and did not always have to argue and fight.
