I'm going to a Civilization board game party tomorrow. Yeah, apparently the computer game was based on a board game. It should be SWEET.

Also, Laga, one of the first-graders at the school that I teach at after school, just got a cell phone. It's kind of bizarre seeing a six-year-old with a cellphone, not least because it's about as big as her hand

LOL I know I hate seeing kids with cellphones, it's like they're already becoming commercially corrupted at such an early age. Bleh.

Well, if it was a Blues Clues phone or something I'd be really concerned, but I dunno...I think having a cell requires some maturity, like the ability to let parents know what you're doing, and if you're that young when you get one...

The board game takes too long. The human factor, while a little more entertaining causes delay. I sat down with a group, intending to go through the whole thing, and hadn't gotten out of the prehistoric stage by the end of the day.

It was organized by my friend Ben, and while we all knew him, none of us knew each other, so we didn't really socialize that much. That was probably part of it. Also, we imposed trading time limits and moved simultaneously a lot. But it was so awesome..
