Let's make Kirkwall a better place for everyone!

I finished another playthrough of DA2 and, I want some closure. I mean, I know it's setting up from DA3, but that's forever away and DA2 just ENDS and we don't know what happens to anyone and there are failing to be vast numbers of epic, beautifully plotted novel length fics with Hawkes and Wardens that are the Hawke and Warden I played resolving ( Read more... )

I keep believing that they aren't as bad as I remember then I go back and OH THE BILE IT BURNSES US. It's not the not-liking the game that annoys (though I do headdesk at certain complaints, like the theme of Killing The Big Bad is somehow deeper than the growing political tensions in Kirkwall) it's the entitlement, the constant entitlement, omg.

I tried to be horrid to Merril and it just didn't work. IT'S AWFUL. Like hitting a particularly adorable puppy with a giant hammer or something.

I hate it when games make you buy things. Like, right now, I hear Star Trek Online calling me with its fancy Bridge Packs, but the thing that hurts the worse is that now they have Oberth-class ships. I have wanted an Oberth-class ship since Star Trek III first came out. It hurts me physically that I do not already have one of these ships, but I paid for a lifetime subscription to the damned thing and even if I had the money right now, I wouldn't give them the satisfaction of buying their Atari Tokens to get me that ship. But I will have it, oh yes. Just as soon as I can figure out how to trick Q into giving me one.

Does that mean the bridges in STO do anything now? Or does it just make them look prettier?

As far as I know, it's all aesthetic, to make the interior match the exterior of the ship you're flying around in rather than just having the generic interior you start out with. Although I understand the one for the classic series incorporates the sounds and look of that era all throughout the ship, so you have the biobeds Bones used in the sickbay, for example, complete with the throbbing hum they emit and everything.

Classic sounds nifty. I just remember being Tremendously Disappoint when I discovered I could go to my bridge...and do sod all there. Even just pressing a couple of buttons would have been nice.

I missed Fenris' quest too! And only realised once I reached the endgame and thought, wait, what? Oops. Replay needed.

I only found out about Orana a few minutes ago, from reading through other people's play posts! I don't know whether to feel glad there's a whole new strand to work through this replay, or sad that I've missed chances of playing differently. Boo.
