You need to watch Vincent. Here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxQcBKUPm8o

It's one of Tim Burton's early works, back when he was still at Disney, I believe. Vincent Price narrates it, and it's kind of fun to see his stop-motion work a decade before Nightmare Before Christmas and see how it's evolved.

(I maaaaay have studied this short film for a paper I wrote for my History of Animation class)

Also, MONKEY ISLAND FTW.

And OH FINE, ICON ME.

OH OH THAT WAS MARVELLOUSNESS. Thank you! OH VINCENT PRICE. And Tim Burton is quite good too and all. (I should probs not admit this, but I just saw Nightmare Before Christmas for the first time about two weeks ago, ahem.)

It's also an extra on a Burton DVD, but typically I have forgotten which. I suspect it might be Big Fish.

Wikipedia says the 2008 Special Edition of NBC, though I feel like I own it on something else too. Toooooo many DVDs.

The sekrit secret to getting anything to play in flash on the old-school BBC Who site is to choose the 'full screen' option at the bottom of any page where it tries to convince you that you don't actually have flash. I have no idea why everything works in full screen and nothing works windowed, but so it is for me. Meanwhile, thank you muchly for pointing out that animation! It is hilarious.

I always thought the first icon was from The Corpse Bride somehow! Interesting, now I must see the short.

I didn't even know Vincent was a Tim Burton thing, so I think that is a Very Sensible and Impressive Sort of Assumption. (jigglykat linked to the short up thread, if you didn't see that - I REC HEARTILY.)
