There is other telly on that is not Doctor Who. I am even paying attention to some of it.

  • Legend of the Seeker has been cancelled, woes. UNFAIR DUDES UNFAIR. I liked it, dammit. There was swordfighting and hot guys and girls talking to each other about stuff that wasn't romance. Also even after they killed off pretty people they still got to guest ( Read more... )

reading, telly, ashes to ashes

American TV situations confuse me and I'm American an expect things to be weird. Which is to say: STAY SEEKER STAY! PLEASE DON'T TAKE YOUR MAGICAL COMBINATION OF KAHLAN & CARA FROM ME!

And that first A2A opening made me so happy. I was like: OMG I LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH I AM SO HAPPY IT IS BACK!

The combination of Uptown Girl vid + Don't You Want Me playing in the background makes me think someone has been hanging around looking at fanvids.

It is like they looked at fandom and asked "what can we make that would make them most happy?"

I got the 'flu last year and watched the first series of it and somehow came out the other end thinking, right-oh, that was some fun stuff! And then I watched the second series while not under the balmy influence of a thousand strepsils and, ... it was fun, but my palm got well-acquainted with my forehead!

So, third season ... there are also more flus, right? I've just got to time it right.

Which is like some sort of horrid confusing thing cause I hate that show. But now I must watch it. Hmph.

...Yeah, that's pretty much my response. C'mon, Alexander Siddig! Get hired on some other show!

Why can't he be on Doctor Who? That would be like magic.

Ooooooh. He could even be a baddie, I'd be okay with that. Probably.

Yo I don't think it's been officially canceled. If you're referring to Tribune not picking it up that's true, but ultimately it's Disney's word. Writer Mike Sussman on Twitter says they're going ahead with breaking stories for Season 3 still. (Your post really made GASP tho. But my Twitter is calm so I don't think anything actually happened.)

I'm not sure what I'm referring to; I was reading wiki and TRUSTED IT.

Well it's a bit more complicated of a sitch than what Wiki says. I THINK! *checks Twit flist quickly again to reassure self*

To explain the situation more thoroughly: ABC/Disney owns and produces Seeker. To get back the money they spent on making the show, they sold the episodes into syndication to air on various TV stations around the country. The biggest group of stations that pays to air Seeker is owned by Tribune. The Tribune stations have sold advertising time during each episode based on how many people watch the show. Since not enough people are watching the second season, the ad revenue has decreased. Tribune thinks it can do better by airing a different show instead and has said they don't want to buy more Seeker episodes ( ... )

OH NOES! This is sad-making news! No more pretty, pretty hair?

And I really have to get into Ashes to Ashes. Saw the first few eps again recently and enjoyed them (though Gene's gotten even worse in the 70s-80s interim, boo).
