I have not been doing much captaining in STO because omg, the servers are robust. I almost don't mind, because every time they go down, I head over to the forums and, oh, the crazy is strong. Even the people I agree with are mad. Half the dudes are furious and want lawsuits and say it is terrible and awful and EVIL that Cryptic cannot guarantee a ( Read more... )

I started reading A Game of Thrones a couple of weeks ago when I was doing laundry, but stopped when I had to start working on freelance again. I'll save it for a certain airplane trip later this month. I've heard nice things about this series!

BRUNETTES ARE AWESOME. I need to dye my hairs soon.

My husband was also complaining about the STO robustness yesterday. Other than that, I think he's enjoying the hell out of the game, to the point of spending an absurdly long amount of time picking the exact shade of highlight to add to his spaceship. (Though I suppose I shouldn't mock, since if I were playing, I'd probably do the same thing.)

When one has a Liberated Borg character, one should try to get one's ship the right shade of sickly green, y/y?

The description of the basic dichotomy (and rabidity) of the forums is true of every game forum I have ever been on - and I have been on many - in the last decade or more. Reading too many game forums is a recipe for madness. Do not believe more than a tenth of anything you see in them.

P.S. In case it is not clear, I am the Spouse of Nonelvis, and my thoughts on the STO Head Start weekend are here if you have interest in such.

Yay, another budding George R. R. Martin fan on my f-list! I'm always looking for new people who are making their way through A Song of Ice & Fire and then start bitching about the wait for book 5. :)

Marvelous icon. (I think I was briefly using it at one point. Suspect I'll haul it back up if/when the next book is finally released and I re-read the preceding installments...)
