The Five Doctors - 25th Anniversary DVD thingie

Mar 01, 2008 17:18

Y'know, the year I am actually older than these 25th anniversary things, I am going to freak out a bit. But that's in The Distance, just now I have a Beautiful DVD of the blasted story that started my rather unfortunate love of Doctor Who. So it's full of shiny, shiny nostalgia. And stuff! Awesome stuff! Even tediously dull extras like Now and Then ( Read more... )

The last cap wants me to run at them all with mad flailing speed and glomp them . But who first?
I'm torn between glomping Petey or Teh Trout.
They're all so smiley... I'm sure they'd be perfectly amendable to my attacks.
I'm glad to know there are some fun/mockable extra features on the new release.
How are we set for commentary?

I have not yet listened, but Davison is on one of them and he's not never been less than smashingly entertaining. Ooh, and Strickson's on the other - I haven't heard him before - but he's with Carole-Ann Ford and Nic Courtney so possibly I will merely be discovering who is now dead.

I see your Barbara, and raise you a Barbra.
*thinks* If Ian and Babs had been in Five Docs.....oh my.

Ach yes, identifying people we don't really care about and then saying that they're dead. Wonderfully entertaining stuff, that.
If it's the same Davison one from the US release, it will be smashing.
I've never heard any of the people of the second commentary commentate before - color me intrigued.

Yay! Behind the scenes hijinks! This was my jump start into classic Who. Good memories.

I WANTS IT AND I DON'T HAVE IT AND I WANTS IT. And the region 4 release date is still TBA. Bah.

You could order it from overseas if postage is not prohibitive? It is regions 2 and 4.

I think I shall when I feel the urge to type in caps disappear. I am exerting great self-control to not be holding down shift (because only cheats use the lock). I WANTS IT MY PRECIOUS. Sometimes my self control falters.

ALTERNATE VERSION OF PAUL JERRICO'S DELIVERY OF "NO, NOT THE MIND PROBE!"

You have just convinced me to buy this DVD, even though I hate this story for flushing Borusa's hardcore, complex ex-ethics professor awesome down the toilet. CURSE YOU.

But that's what happens to Time Lords who get power. They go MAD. MAD AS HATTERS. Unless they're Romana. Mmhm.
