191 Near Disasters

I've been told to go do whatever it is I do to relax. The only stipulation was that I not do so at Lux.

The cats might find it fulfilling to sit and stare through the window all day (Something wrong, Ishiah?). I don't. A spot inspection of the dojo sounds about right. Maybe some practice after. Unless someone has another suggestion?

[ This comment is not actually here, for this is the sound of Robin Goodfellow leaving through his bedroom window at the sight of 'spot check' and 'dojo' so close together. ]

Why don't you have yourself a nice, leisurely lunch on me? I'll tell you what, you can cook. I'll have the ingredients delivered. What do you think about an asparagus, wild mushroom and gruyere quiche? You can make quiche, can't you?

That sounds very relaxing to me.

I already ate. Where did you go just now, Robin? I could have sworn you were in your room.

Would you believe walking for health and pleasure?

That rules out your company, doesn't it?

I think you know how exciting things can get with me.

There's no novelty. We'll insult each other, draw some blood, avoid the final blow because we have a mutual interest in not upsetting certain parties.

I'm pretty sure along with the Lux edict there was an impled, "any workplace" clause.

You could go to the Library, there's a ballet tonight, there's a movie theater, there's restaurants, there's clubs that aren't the Lux, and there is a nice big forest and pretty gardens to have picnics in.

Fortunately, Kyle isn't part of the corporate structure at the dojo, such as it is.

Too much sitting and staring, too much alcohol, I see the forest every day, and the moment I sit down in a garden I'm liable to be ambushed by Robin.

But do you see the trees?

Is there ever a time when you're not worried about something? That you just sit back, relax and let the world sail by without you for, oh, I dunno, an hour or two?

One day we're going to have a conversation and come to an understanding.

Not if you're going to remain up there, certainly.
