I think that's one of those things i love the best about Freeman's John. He's the most affable of types, right up until he isn't. His little ways of making that stick and stick hard are amazing. That little smile and quirks of the eyes are just one of many.

You just don't see it, right up until its too late and you're dead. He capitalizes on it for all its worth. Hanging around Sherlock makes it even harder for others to see it.

Freeman is a GREAT Watson. He really puts it all together, and I think it's just enhanced by the way they've dressed him in all these hideous jumpers. He looks so nice and tired and maybe a little confused, and then he shoots you.
