“Hey Bones! Bones! Over here, man!”
Leonard looks up over the crowd, and sees Jim waiting for him over by baggage claim. The younger man is all but beaming at him, and Leonard feels his heart contract and expand in response as he walks over.
“Hey, kid,” he says when he gets to Jim. “Miss me?”
Jim shakes his head, grinning even wider. “Nah. You should leave again. I might actually get some homework done then.”
Leonard snorts a laugh, and to his own surprise gives Jim a kiss-one that’s returned with first hesitation and then enthusiasm. “Or not.”
“Yeah, not’s better,” Jim mutters, and kisses him again. “Welcome back, Bones.”
