Invasion!

Argh! We've been invaded and my productivity has dropped.

In other news I've made it to 5,000. Next stop 6K!

Wow, you're way ahead of me. I'm only at 1507 so far. I tend to be one of those that only make about 1666 a day and finish on the last day.

How's your story shaping up?

That's good progress :D I usually begin with a sprint and then it gradually slows down until the last week when I pick it up again with a vengeance!

I actually hated the first half hour or so of writing, then around 400 words in things starting to shape up a little bit and I'm beginning to like what I'm writing now. Even if my characters are completely going against what I've planned for them. Two of my characters - who are supposed to be good friends - have suddenly decided to have little random disagreements whenever they feel like it. Bizarre really. :D

How are you liking your start?

I'm not liking my start too much yet. I don't hate it, but I don't really like it. I think it's because, writing a lot of fan fic, I've gotten out of the habit of introducing the characters. Still, I think I'll like the story once I get started and they get actually doing something.

Maybe your two characters have one of those relationships where griping at each other is part of the way they relate to each other.

I'm so glad today is going well. Especially because when I started writing at midnight I wrote my MC's name, and then got stuck.

I can relate to the fan fic/struggling to introduce characters thing, not only because I've been writing fan ficcy things for the past eleven months, but also because of all the preparation I've done for this. I know my characters already and so I'm assuming that anyone who reads it will know who they are too.

I think you're right about Hannah and Chris - they don't have massive fights, they just happen to be very opinionated and so agree to disagree about pretty much everything.
