With everything going on this week, and the financial gloom-and-doom, there hasn't been much interesting chum out there on the newswires. But I do have a little for you:
  • From the “Insert Your Hillary Clinton Joke Here” Department: We’ve all heard about stem cells, and their potential benefit to curing diseases. We’ve also all heard about how ( Read more... )

Hrm...the updated Fame sounds interesting - and given the nature of technology these days, and how much schools have changed in the last how many years (eek), I am both eagerly awaiting this, and apprehensive at the same time.

Fame is a rather dark movie actually, with some fun moments, but some moments of real gut-wrenching emotion. I hope they decide to keep as much of that as possible, and don't turn it into some kind of High School Musical pre-teen romp.

I own a copy, and have actually watched it. If you want to borrow mine, let me know - I'll be at Folsom next week, and I'm certain arrangements can be made.

The extras are worth watching as well, but the commentary track is kinda meh.

I may have to go get a couple bags or nostalgic purposes before they're all gone for good. I remember back when we were baseball fans, my family would try and make it out for the Giants game that was Mother's cookies trading card day. I've still go the cards kicking around in my parents' garage, I think.

Hmm, I wonder how much work it'd take to work out a recipe for the Circus Animals...

Keebler makes a good approximation. They are still my favorite.

I primarily remember Mother's Cookies pink and white monstrosities. I'm a huge sugar fiend, and yet I could leave an opened box of those cookies around until they started to rot. I even felt that way about them when I first was introduced to them, around age 10.

I was also involved in the conversion of the Mother's Cookies factory in Oakland to another use.
