Last night, we went out to the Rose Bowl for the DCI World Championship Finals. First, however, a digression, as not everyone is familiar with DCI or the sport of Drum Corps. Interesting... the marching band was a HUGE thing at my high school - in fact, it's what our school was known for (not having had a football team who could ever hope to win a game - people used to come to our football games to see the half time show.) ;) And though I wasn't musically inclined, I spent my high school years in the flag corps... ;)

It was pretty intense at my school - and they treated it as seriously as other sports - we had to audition, train, work out several times a week, rehearse for MANY hours everyday - we weren't even allowed to have after school jobs. It doesn't surprise me that this is treated as a serious sport - it sort of was to us at our school!
