As folks know, I've recently been researching my family tree. Part of this involves going to ancestry.com and doing various searches. In this, I've discovered a new appreciation for weird names. After all, doing searches on names like "Charles Meyer" or "Richard Meyer" gives far too much information to narrow things down. On the other hand, there ( Read more... )

The Christmas banners were hung in the Simi Valley strip mall where the Regal theaters are on Nov 1. I guess that the passing of Halloween starts the free-for-all.

I think my opinion is evidenced by the fact that my wife kept her maiden name when we got married in 1985. My daughter has my name. I've never had a problem with it.

Ideally, children should be hyphenated, but things would get ridiculous then. As long as they take one parent's name, then doing genealogical searches are still possible, for you should be able to find them in the household with the parents.

My mother used ancestry.com to trace her father's ancestry.
