You have the right Bishop. He did a very good Sykes. Extremely strong singing voice. Evidently, he has also played Lacelot in Camelot. His bio says he retired from the stage in 2001 to pursue a career in emergency medicine, so I guess the CMT gig (which is weekends only) is keeping his connection to theatre.

Beautiful singing voice, strong stage presence, and pretty easy on the eyes. ;) I think he left the LM tour in late 2000? (I know it was after Kevin left - and Kevin left in Feb of 2000...) and he was doing some CLO stuff for a while, but had no idea he decided to pursue a career in emergency medicine... :O Wow, a man of so many talents!

The most recent reissue of the OLIVER Broadway cast recording includes as a bonus track Ron Moody's "Reviewing the Situation" from the London cast recording. His Fagin (the original) is considerably more "Jewish," even down to the orchestration of the song. The liner notes explain that David Merrick felt that Fagin's Jewish mannerisms had to be toned down considerably for Broadway "to avoid offending America's Jewish population, a significant portion of whom were perceived to be regular theatregoers." Clive Revill's politically-correct version became the standard for American productions, even when Ron Moody played the role in the movie. The interesting thing, of course, is that London also has a large Jewish population-- which included Lionel Bart himself.

I'm aware of that. You can clearly hear it in Moody's original version.
