I have (in my mind) temporarily accepted LJ's new terms of service to post this. The extent to which it applies to Permanent users such as myself is unclear.

So with this change I'm taking a look at re-doing my website and importing my journal to a Wordpress installation. Do you have any advice or observations, having made the transition yourself quite a while ago?

I remember there being a problem having Wordpress both import my existing journal at the same time I had it set to cross-post. Ended up with loads of duplicate entries and it was a pain to sort them out. I would import before I enabled the cross-post support.
