Yesterday I was talking to Suie about technical failures in the cinema. Like when I saw American Gangster (2007) and the projectionist didn’t mask the frame and the boom mic was visible for the whole picture. i went to a screening maybe last year where the film, a seventies print of 'the warriors,' burnt up during the movie! they had the dvd queued up so it wasn't a big deal, and it was kind of a bummer that the print was ruined, but i thought that was kind of wonderful.

i find it very odd that the bloor ran a dvd -- you should find out whether the print was damaged earlier in the engagement or something like that. they tend to take quality pretty seriously. i would've asked for a refund in a situation like that.

'romance' was a pretty saucy picture.

yeah, i figure they deserve the benefit of the doubt. it may have said something in the guide, i dunno. either way.

i've never seen a print burn before. i've seen some pretty bad colour fading, and a restorationjob that had segments that were pretty destroyed. but in general i'd rather see aprint with inperfections than a dvd that's crystal clear but skipps in an annoying way.

i usually complain, but i this case i was greatful for the nap.
