I can completely understand why Sherlock would not invest his time in the trivia of popular culture. He's obviously aware of it to some extent-- because it has a use in understanding people and their motives-- but the degree of obsession with ALL of it required for a trivia game? No.

That isn't knowledge, it's dreck.

And Anderson will always be a prat, John's good intentions notwithstanding. ;)
