Okay. So, this wasn't even any kind of challenging cooking task, or an experiment, or anything involving fire at all and it still went foom ( Read more... )

i don't even know, fudgepuddles!!!, why do i even bother?, cooking, i'm a hazard to myself, life, disaster kitchen, science!

High liquid content. Things with high liquid content must be nuked with great caution. I didn't learn that the first time either.

I've nuked entire bowls of soup for that long and they never exploded. I guess the energy gets concentrated in a smaller amount?

I've hypothesized before that freezing makes them evil, since fresh strawberries and strawberry jam have never tried to kill me. Yet.
