It's not an overt reference, more of an 'if you see it, it's there' reference, along with all the other Doctor Who stuff.

I actually really liked this movie. It was entertaining in that cheesy kind of way.

So ya...we weren't sure when we could watch this as a group so some of us watched this last night. It was fun and bad. Just funny that you posted this now. Woo. great minds and the like :)

Also as ciaranbochna points out, you could do a drinking game based on the amount of times that they say "Electro-magnetic" or "EM". You would be plastered within 30 minutes. :)

It's probably a good thing the English accents were so incredibly baaaaaad because it took my mind off how incredibly AWFUL the whole movie was! Even Peter Wingfield's accent was dodgy and he IS English! But Brent Stait... Oh Scotty with the smile that can light up a room... You were so damn good as Rev Bem in Andromeda. Did you lose your mojo when they cut off your hair? So badly? Seriously, is that a scrubbing brush on the top of your head???

(On a side note, they're advertising the new Sherlock Holmes on the BBC at the moment. So I guess they do plan to show it.)

I don't know what the budget was for this production, but they certainly saved a bundle on accent coaching. :-P
