It's a good thing that I am in the habit of filling the kettle whenever I boil water. The kettle's whistle doesn't work, but usually I end up over-filling it. It slops out the spout when the water boils and makes a big hissing noise upon it hitting the burner, thereby alerting me that it's boiling and I should shut off the stove. I, uh. Never do anything like that. *shifty eyes* And since I don't, I could certainly not offer you the advice of getting one of those electric kettles that shuts off automatically when it's boiled.

I'm not sure exactly why, but water boiled in an electric kettle doesn't taste right to me. Like it's got ozone in it or something. What I really need is to not be so distracti- Ooo! Shiny thing! *poing*

Thank goodness nothing was burning. I boiled the absolute HELL out of a bunch of eggs one time. Eggs make a neat popping sound when they are in a pot with no water left. o.O
