FARSCAPE (1999 - 2003)

I have this television show listed under "10 fantasy/sci-fi things I’ve been meaning to get around to" because I haven't seen this show from start to finish. I do however know the gist of the story and some of the major plot points. I also watched both the series 4 finale (such a clifferhanger!) and The Peacekeepers War miniseries that followed the show *blushes* Yeah, I'm a little all over the place when it comes to this show, I'm not sure if it was the time slot that kept me from watching this show chronologically or what.

Anyways, this show made it to my 100 Things list because this show is pretty unique and the story is quite an adventure. It starts off with a IASA astronaut who gets sucked through a wormhole during a test flight and ends up in the far reaches of the universe surrounded by a myriad of aliens and space civilisations and ends up hitching a ride with a group of other characters escaping the Peacekeepers. Major plot arcs emerge here throughout their travels involving the Peacekeepers, John Crichton's nemesis Scorpius, and John's knowledge about wormholes. The unique aspects is really the worldbuilding and civilisations involved: the concept of the Peacekeepers, the various aliens that come in and out, Moya the ship, etc. It can be pretty epic at times but also pretty comedic with John making lots and lots of pop culture references in the middle of nowhere. You grow to care for the characters on board Moya and The Peacekeepers War was a great way to conclude such a story; I'm especially glad that the show had a chance to conclude its story since it was axed out of nowhere with a 1 series left to go.

I'm hoping to get around to watching the show from start to finish at some point...I wish I could say more about this show but yeah, I haven't finished watching it so...
