OK, so all you that know me also know that I'm a bit on the weird side of things.. that's fine, I know it too..

That being said, how many of you are looking at the current situation and working out just how self-sufficient you could be if push came to shove?.. I know I am doing so..

I think I would have to hope like hell for an afp-collective, but I could make you all clothes in exchange for food and hugs :)

Um, is there anything in particular I've been missing in the news lately, or are you just talking about the general blindly heading for the precipice that humanity is so good at?

And I wouldn't call you weird. A bit opiniated maybe, but not exactly weird.

We've been doing it for at least 5 years and gradually improving our skills - we're not in the optimum place right now (too close to civilisation really) but that can change if we see the need.

OK so as to maintain a DVD collection, this means scriptwriting, direction and acting all done by ourselves : hmmm I think afp could manage that :-)

Might be a few disputes over who does what with whom ;-)

Working on it, I have basic construction skills, but am (so far) too reliant on having power at hand for the tools. I could probably knock up a basic smithy's hearth from scrap material, forging hammer can, to an extent, be made from hard rock and branches, until you get to a point where you can make proper tools. An anvil is harder, but may be doable (at least if we presume there's a bit of disused railway at hand).

Some foraging skills. Definite cooking skills. Some knowledge of rapid, exothermic reactions. Some brewing skills.

So, we have tools, fire, shelter and food.

I've got plenty of land, both arable and forested, hunting and fishing rights, barns and workshops, and anvils and hammers. Oh, and farming implements made for use by hand or drawn after a horse. Only thing missing is a handmill and access to salt, as far as I can tell.

Maybe we should just move back to Sweden and start a consultancy (and, possibly, a mead brewery, there's at least one pub in Stockholm looking for a new supplier). We still need to schedule things, but I suppose "tomorrow" is too soon (then I'm booked for two Saturdays straight).

You guys want some company? I'm up for learning a new language and supply brute-force and primitive vehicle maintenence. Of the 4-legged vehicle kind.

Plus assorted farming and butchering stuff.
